Christian Education is a vital part for all ages for the faith family at 1st United Presbyterian Church!
Sunday School begins at 9:30 and ends at 10:30, giving us a 15 minute break between the end of Sunday school and the beginning of Worship.
Nursery is available both during Sunday School and worship.

Ages 3 to 5
Our Pre-school program uses the Young Children and Worship curriculum. It consists of a Bible story and follow up activities.
The goals of the program are:
- To foster an eagerness to learn about God
- To acquaint young children with the stories of Scripture, especially those that focus on Jesus
- To help young children know and experience the loving care of our great God
- To help young children experience a warm and nurturing place to learn about God

Grades K-1 and Grades 2-3: Using the Presbyterian Church curriculum Grow in Grace and Gratitude, students are engaged in scripture, activities and crafts to grow in their faith. Grades K-1 is taught by Katie Amidon and Phyllis Lyons and Grades 2-3 is taught by Kim Forsythe and Aubrie Erwin.
Grades 4 & 5 explore Old and New Testament stories through quirky videos, Bible study and craft projects. New Testament stories are explored during the 2015-16 school year and Old Testament stories will be studied during the 2016-17 school year. Grades 4-5 is taught by Vicky Shields and Pam Ark.
Middle School (taught by Brad and Laura Flora and Liz Taber) and High School (taught by Bob Core and Frank Turner) classes explore a variety of topics based on the year and student interests.
Summer Sunday School uses a rotation model of exploring various Bible stories through Cooking, Bible Games and Skills, Creative Drama, and Art. Students rotate to a different medium and each teacher of the summer.
Adult Classes: We offer 4 different adult classes to choose from. Faith Journey, Families of Faith, Christian Ethics and our Koininia class all explore a variety of topics throughout the year. Contact the church office for current classes.
